Nathalie Stutzmann
Over the past few years Nathalie Stutzmann has combined her recognized activity as an opera singer with that of an orchestra conductor, bringing charisma and energy to the podium. On this occasion, she is confronted with three creations that are very different in style and character. In Couperin's Tombeau Ravel takes inspiration from French baroque music to write a suite that pays tribute to his homeland and his friends who died during the First World War. The clear grace of these dances contrasts with the sonorous exuberance of the Tannhäuser overture, in which Wagner evokes a heroic and legendary atmosphere. The program ends with one of the most famous and intense symphonies of the repertoire, the "Pathetique", which Tchaikovsky wrote in 1893 as a sort of very personal requiem, sensing that his end was near.
